Laura Murrihy

Senior Occupational Therapist, Colac Area

Laura grew up in Colac and moved to Geelong to complete her Occupational Therapy degree at Deakin University. After graduating in 2008 Laura spent the following 7-years living in different parts of Australia to gain experience in a variety of Occupational Therapy environments. This included Acute and Rehabilitation Hospital settings, Palliative Care, Community Health, Guide Dogs Low Vison Services, and Private Practice.

Laura is passionate about “wellbeing” and working with individuals, to improve participation and independence in meaningful goals. Laura enjoys working with people across all age groups, but has a particular interest in working with adolescents and young adults with Mental Health Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Laura enjoys providing therapy to support people with a range of needs including; sensory and emotional regulation, social skills, independent living skill development and related equipment prescription. Laura is a registered Yoga Teacher with specific training in somatic and embodied movement practices. 
Laura loves the diversity in her role as an OT, in being able to problem solve with people to find the best therapeutic support to match their unique strengths and challenges, 
Since starting a family, Laura has relocated back to Colac to be close to her extended family and explore the beautiful surrounds of the Otway Ranges and neighbouring coastal towns.
