Zander Laidlaw

Occupational Therapist

Zander is an Occupational Therapist who enjoys working with children 7 years and older as well as adults. Zander moved to Geelong to begin his studies at Deakin University, and has stayed in Geelong ever since.

Zander has previously worked in both the public hospital and private sectors, and developed a number of skills from these experiences. Zander values being strengths based and has spend the last 2 years working within the Social Model of Health, which understands that it is not a diagnosis that limits a person, but their physical and social environment. Zander enjoys working with individuals and their families to achieve their goals, such as: sensory and emotional regulation, social skills and challenging behaviours, independent living skill development and related equipment prescription.

Zander values working with, and building strong therapeutic relationships with clients, and involving their families and broader supports to achieve their goals. This includes meeting clients and their families in their natural environments.

Outside of his work at OKAY Therapy, Zander has returned to Deakin University, where he now teaches part time. Zander also loves golf and spending time with his partner and their Labradoodle, Billie.
